 William Blakewell: an up-and-coming young actor fresh off a successful role in DW Griffith’s latest film. Looking to take the next step in his film career.

*Madame Boviere: a famous psychic, tarot-reader and soothsayer, with a good-sized following from the upper class. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST

 Brooke Clarisse: a star of experimental films – more serious actress than starlet despite her looks.  Rumor has it her recent work in Germany has created quite a stir – the victory in the obscenity trial that allowed the film’s American release didn’t quell the studio heads’ concerns.

 Leah  Cohen: a known associate of Leo Maltz’s gang, she is reputed to be the financial brains of the operation. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST

 Douglas Fairbanks: well-known movie star and a founder of United Artists. :Rumor has it UA is doing an adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew” to be produced by Fairbanks and his wife, the star Mary Pickford.

 Lenny “Just Fine” Feinstein: a talented jazz musician

 *Eve Golden: a flapper and Hollywood party girl.

 William B. Goodrich: a B-movie film director who looks strikingly familiar to some people.

 Cary Grant: A young actor from Great Britain making his way in Hollywood. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST

 Dorothy “Dottie” Hall: a Hollywood hopeful and aspiring starlet.

 *Lloyd Harte: a silent film star, his last two films have been flops.  THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST

 Dorothy Harper: witty and acerbic gossip columnist, originally from New York. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST

 T.B. Larkin: Not a politician, he just runs ‘em.  A cigar-chomping, back-slapping deal-maker, one of the cornerstones of the L.A. Republican party, always looking to win constituents.  THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST

 Peter Liep: A studio executive, the main money man for Paramount. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST

 *Fr. Robert McNamara: a local parish priest and social organizer with ties to the industry unions.

 Leopold Ignatz “Leo” Maltz: the boss of a local organized-crime outfit — hailing originally from New York City, by way of the bloody gangland of Kansas City, Maltz is notorious for his ruthlessness and greed. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST

Lt. Mike O’Clair:  LAPD officer who lives the good life.  Certainly he maintains a lifestyle far in excess of his salary.

Iggy “the Eskimo” Shapiro: Enforcer for Leo Maltz’s gang.  Rumor has it he earned his nickname by killing a man with an icicle.  THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST.

*Will Smith: reporter for William Randolph Hearst’s Los Angeles Examiner and “researcher” for columnist Louella Parsons. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST

 Arne Sorensen: An LA city councilman and good friend of T.B. Larkin.

 Josephine Stuart: a bookkeeper at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, has become a regular customer to M. Beauregard’s since the LADWP’s newest dam, The Saint Francis Dam, collapsed. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST
